Designed for intake volume flows from 4,000 – 13,200m 3 /h, the Aerzen Turbo blower is a gearless driven assembly utilis- ing lubricant-free 'Air-foil bear- ings' and featuring cast stainless steel impellors. All assemblies are manufactured and tested in accordance to ISO 5389, are CE- certified and fully comply with WIMES standards. www.aerzen.co.uk Trickling media on show at WEFTEC GEA 2H Water Technologies will present the benefits of Polypro- pylene (PP) trickling filter media compared with PVC equivalents at this year's WEFTC show in New Orleans, September 27-October 1 on stand 2939. Benefits include PP's elasticity, meaning operatives can walk the top layer for inspection without damaging it – PVC requires a walk- ing grate. Lower density means PP sheets are thicker than PVC with no added weight, increasing resist- ance against erosion and buckling. And, thermo-welding compared with solvent gluing common in PVC media – thus eliminating the use solvents. www.gea-2h.co.uk Fixed ring seal for speedy installation JDP has introduced a new trapped/fixed ring seal which, it says, can speed up the instal- lation of BS EN 1401-1 under- ground drainage pipe systems. The system uses a polypropylene ring stiffener and ring seal fitted inside the seal chamber when the fittings are produced, or an encapsulated ring seal which is fixed in place during manufac- ture. It allows greater speed and flexibility in connecting pipework, even when not 100% aligned. The trapped seals can only be re- moved using tools, meaning they cannot dislodge in transportation, handing or installation and will always pass an air test www.jdpipes.co.uk Nijhuis H2OK wins ADBA award Nijhuis Aecomix technology won the Process Efficiency/ Optimisation award at this year's UK AD and Biogas Industry Awards. Recognised for its anaerobic treatment capability based on solids retention by Dissolved Biogas Flotation, Aecomix allows wastewater and organic waste streams to be treated in one reactor making it particularly well-suited to food and bever- age processing plants. Offering high performance and easy adapted to local conditions and environments, the technol- ogy also requires lower Capex and Opex than other solutions says the company. www.h2ok.co.uk Conder launches septic tank range Conder Aqua Solutions has announced a new range of septic tanks, available in reinforced and super reinforced options thanks to the introduction of a new granular surround backfill. The introduction allows for easier installation and, therefore, significantly reduced installation costs as granular backfill can be used rather than concrete. Manufactured in both HDPE from 3,000 to 10,000 litres and GRP in capacities from 12,000 to 250,000, the tanks are fully CE-approved and tested to EN12566-1. www.conderproducts.com Hydrascan transforms pipe cleaning The Transformer Typhoon from Hydrascan, expands and collapses, making it ideal for use in applications with narrow access points and variable di- ameter pipelines. It is controlled remotely, expanding within the pipe, switching to cleaning mode and collapsing for removal once the operation has finished. It has recently been used by Balfour Beatty Utility Services to clean parts of the Dee main and Manchester ring main. Work involved cleaning mains up to 182.9cm and entering via narrow access points. www.hydrascan.co.uk JDP says plastic is preferable JDP's Adexo range of plastic inspection chambers offers time, cost, flexibility and H&S benefits over concrete equivalents, says the company. Being lightweight they can be installed manually without wet trades and confined spaces sav- ing up to 40% on material costs and 50% in installation time, with the same leak tightness qualities as plastic drainage pipes. The range also offers flexibility to suit site condi- tions. The Adexo 600 chamber for example, comprises a base unit in various channel con- figurations and with a choice of connection diameters, with sha , sealing ring and restrictor cap. www.jdpipes.co.uk Sensorex extends range Sensorex has expanded its S8000 series modular electrode platform with the addition of the CS8000TC conductivity sensor. Inte- grating easily into in-line systems, its keyed flange facilitates sensor orientation while a detachable cable assembly eliminates the need to pull cable through a conduit. The sensor's conductivity cell constant is k=1.0 +/-10% for a wide measurement range within its temperature/pressure of 60°C/100psig. Temperature compensation is included with a choice of four sensor types. 10K, 30K NTC, Pt100 and Pt1000 RTD options enable matching to existing conductiv- ity transmitter or controllers. www.sensorex.com
