Membership is open to any company that has conditions relating to metering assets in its licence or is engaged in commercial activities related to the provision of metering services. The UKMF interfaces with Ofgem's technical and policy arms on legal metrology issues, with BSI on standards development and with government/BERR and ELEXON on general metering technology issues. In pursuance of its aims, the forum employs a specialist industry consultant, with secretariat services provided by Gemserv. UK Revenue Protection Association 10 Fenchurch Street, London EC3M 3BE Tel: 020 7090 1070 Fax: 020 7090 1001 Email: ukpra@gemserv.com Website: www.ukrpa.org.uk Following a national Revenue Protection (RP) Conference in 1998 it was agreed to establish a formal (though voluntary) body – the UK Revenue Protection Association (UKRPA) to cover RP interests. The UKRPA provides a forum for exchange of information and discussion of matters of common interest related to revenue protection in order to benefit business activities, nominates representatives to represent interests on relevant groups discussing the development of the competitive market, and acts as an interface to other representative organisations with an indirect interest in RP. It also promotes publicity and agreed activities in the collective interests of members, including an occasional national conference. Full membership is currently restricted to companies providing RP services to energy suppliers, but associate membership is open to RP organisations working for water suppliers and to manufacturers and providers of services related to RP. A small committee manages matters between general meetings. The association has several subcommittees looking at particular aspects of RP work and employs a consultant to address specific issues.
